About the job

The team is revolutionizing the cancer diagnostics space and is now looking for another Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join its incredible team. SREs at the team's support our mission by pushing out new features and applications every day. The Site Reliability Engineering team constantly practices the DevOps mindset to build and deploy distributed, fault-tolerant systems at scale. As part of this team, you will work with developers, operations, and product sponsors to help design, build, and deploy the critical infrastructure needed.

What will you do?

  • Design and enhance software architecture to improve scalability, service reliability, capacity, and performance.
  • Write automation code for provisioning and operating infrastructure at a massive scale. You are not an operator, you’re an experienced software engineer focused on operations.
  • Author and update high-quality documentation of all relevant specifications, systems, and procedures.
  • Discover new trends and best practices in the industry and work to implement them.
  • Build and maintain monitoring solutions that keep our Operations teams ahead of any incident before it happens.
  • Experiment with new AWS offerings that can one day be used to improve current systems.
  • Continually challenge the status quo, by utilizing automation and finding solutions to repetitive processes.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design seamless CICD Pipelines in Gitlab.
  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems by participating in the on-call rotation.
  • Collaborate across the development teams to share knowledge and support new projects.
  • Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or field as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree and 4 years of experience instead of Bachelor’s degree.
  • background in coding with Python is a must 
  • Experience designing/developing cloud-centric systems using Terraform IaC 2nd option 
  • Ability to debug/optimize code and automate routine tasks.
  • Strong experience troubleshooting complex systems.
  • Strong experience with one or more high-level programming languages.
  • Strong experience with building problem-solving solutions in AWS or Azure.
  • Drive to collaborate in a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. 
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience developing highly available systems architecture using modern technologies.
  • Track record in successfully addressing performance, scalability and latency challenges.
  • AWS Solutions Architect, AWS SysOps Administrator, or AWS Developer certification.
