About the job

As a Mobile QA Tester, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our mobile applications developed for the healthcare sector. Collaborating closely with development teams, you will be responsible for validating the functionality, performance, and usability of our Android and iOS applications, thereby contributing to the success of our VitalSight program and other connected health initiatives.

What will you do?

  • Perform comprehensive testing of mobile applications across various devices and platforms, including Android and iOS, to identify defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Develop and execute test cases, scenarios, and scripts for both manual and automated testing, covering functional, regression, integration, and performance testing aspects.
  • Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to understand requirements, identify potential risks, and prioritize testing efforts effectively.
  • Document and track software defects, investigate their root causes and work closely with development teams to facilitate a timely resolution.
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews, to provide input on testing strategies and progress.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in mobile testing methodologies, tools, and technologies, and recommend improvements to enhance our testing processes.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in mobile application testing, with a focus on Android and/or iOS platforms.
  • Proficiency in writing and executing test cases using testing frameworks and tools such as Appium, XCTest, Espresso, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and techniques, including black-box, white-box, and exploratory testing.
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery pipelines, version control systems, and issue-tracking tools (e.g., Git, JIRA).
  • Knowledge of mobile application development frameworks, programming languages, and IDEs (e.g., Android Studio, Xcode).
  • Familiarity with healthcare industry regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, FDA) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) are desirable but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software products.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Selenium) is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of mobile device testing tools and emulators/simulators.
  • Understanding of mobile security concepts and best practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools.
