About the job

Support and maintain database platforms across hybrid and cloud environments. Contribute to database reliability, performance, and operational maintenance through standardized administration practices, cloud database support, and execution of database migration activities. Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and DevOps teams to help ensure database platforms remain stable, scalable, and operationally efficient.

What will you do?

  • Manage and support enterprise Oracle (Oracle Linux) and SQL Server database environments (Windows-based SQL Server required) 
  • Monitor database availability, reliability, and performance across production and non-production environments 
  • Perform database patching, upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle support activities
  • Execute proactive monitoring and troubleshooting to minimize service disruption
  • Support database configuration management and operational best practices
  • Participate in database migration activities from on-premise environments to AWS cloud platforms
  • Support the implementation and administration of AWS database services such as RDS and Aurora
  • Assist with migration tasks, including data replication, validation, and cutover activities
  • Work with senior engineers and cloud teams to support cloud database adoption initiatives
  • Help maintain stable and scalable cloud-hosted database environments
  • Monitor and analyze Oracle and SQL Server database performance
  • Troubleshoot query, indexing, and resource utilization issues
  • Implement performance improvements under the guidance of senior team members when needed
  • Collaborate with application teams to support efficient database interaction patterns
  • Execute and maintain database backup and recovery processes to support to ensure data integrity and business continuity 
  • Experience with Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) to perform regular hot backups, database exports to replicate schema-level data across dev/test/stage instances
  • Support and validate backup solutions, including automated backup scheduling and recovery testing 
  • Ensure compliance with RPO/RTO objectives and disaster recovery requirements 
  • Utilize enterprise-grade backup tools and cloud-native capabilities 

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in database administration and engineering 
  • Proven experience in: 
  • Oracle database administration (critical requirement) 
  • Microsoft SQL Server administration in Windows environments 
  • Database migration from on-premise to cloud platforms (AWS preferred) 
  • AWS RDS and managed database services 
  • Experience operating in hybrid infrastructure environments 
  • Oracle database administration and troubleshooting 
  • SQL Server (Windows) administration and performance tuning 
  • Database monitoring, backup, and recovery operations
  • Performance optimization (query tuning, indexing, resource management) 
  • Backup and recovery design (RMAN, native SQL Server tools, cloud-native solutions) 
  • AWS database services (RDS, Aurora, monitoring tools) 
  • Scripting/automation (Python, Shell, PowerShell preferred) 
  • Cross-team collaboration and communication skills
