The Project Specialist keeps client engagements organized and on track. This role manages action items, follows up on open items, and runs sub-projects and workstreams within larger engagements, freeing up the consulting team to focus on client strategy and delivery.


The Project Specialist will work closely with the consulting team to track project plans and timelines, coordinate across stakeholders, and ensure that deliverables and commitments are met on schedule.


What will you do?

  • Track action items, decisions, and open issues across client engagements, and proactively follow up to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Own and run discrete sub-projects or workstreams within larger client engagements, with guidance and oversight from senior team members.
  • Build and maintain project plans, timelines, and status trackers to keep engagements organized and on schedule.
  • Prepare agendas, meeting notes, and status updates for internal and client-facing meetings.
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics across client stakeholders and internal team members.
  • Support senior consultants by preparing materials, gathering information, and following up on outstanding deliverables.
  • Work with department leads and project teams to understand existing workflows and processes to help track progress and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Quickly develop a detailed understanding of each client’s business context, systems, and terminology to support the engagement team effectively
  • Maintain project requirements and scope.
  • Support project delivery by participating in status reviews and check-ins, and helping communicate progress and next steps to stakeholders
  • Support project implementation phases, including helping coordinate requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, documenting procedures, and assisting with training logistics
  • Maintain documentation of project decisions, changes, and status.
  • Research best practices and tools to support process and project improvements
  • Proactively suggest process and organizational improvement recommendations within a quickly evolving company.
  • Apply strong analytical skills, prioritization skills, business intuition, and organizational ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the field as outlined in the essential duties; or a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) and 4+ years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties instead of a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 1- 3+ years of relevant professional experience as outlined in the essential duties.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
