About the job

We are seeking an Application Analyst – Prelude to support and optimize the patient registration application that serves as the entry point to the electronic health record (EHR). This role is responsible for ensuring accurate patient identity management, maintaining data integrity, and supporting registration workflows that enable downstream clinical, operational, and billing processes.

The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about delivering high-quality solutions that improve patient safety and operational efficiency.

  • It validates patient and provider information before clinical workflows begin.
  • It ensures orders can progress successfully through the healthcare system.
  • It maintains a single, accurate Medical Record Number (MRN) for every patient.
  • It prevents duplicate patient records that can impact clinical care and billing.
  • It protects patient safety by ensuring clinical results and financial information are associated with the correct individual.

What will you do?

  • Configure, maintain, and support the team's Prelude to ensure accurate patient registration workflows.
  • Analyze incidents, service requests, and enhancement tickets related to patient registration and identity management.
  • Validate patient demographic and provider information to ensure data accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Monitor and manage Work Queues (WQs) to identify registration issues requiring analyst review.
  • Investigate and resolve patient identity discrepancies, including duplicate medical records.
  • Support patient identity management processes by ensuring a single Medical Record Number (MRN) per patient.
  • Review and validate Potential Duplicate Work Queues before patient records are merged.
  • Monitor Auto-Merge Batch processes and troubleshoot exceptions when automated merges cannot be completed.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to resolve registration and identity-related issues.
  • Participate in application upgrades, optimization initiatives, testing, and system implementations.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, workflow documentation, and knowledge articles.
  • Perform system validation, testing, and post-deployment monitoring.
  • Recommend workflow improvements that enhance registration accuracy and patient safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting enterprise software applications or healthcare information systems.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Experience working with ticketing systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
